Hello everypeoples,
since most people appear to have been less than enthused with the gestalt game idea, i'm going to give a few different options for this summer's game.
option 1: Hellboy RPG. Seen the hellboy movies? yeah. kinda like that. you'll be acting as part of the bureau for paranormal research and defense. this is dark heresy with a twist. you will be doing investigation, with a few minor tweaks. more info will be given as I look at the system, but you might well be getting mutations and other such fun things out of the black crusade/normal dark heresy setting. as for the game itself, it will be set in the 50's. why the 50's? a little line from the first movie: "1937: Hitler joins the Thule Society, a group of German aristocrats obsessed with the occult. In 1938, he acquired the spear of Longinus, which pierced the side of Christ. He who holds it becomes invincible. Hitler's power increases tenfold. 1943: President Roosevelt decides to fight back. The Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense is born. 1958: the Occult Wars finally come to an end with the death of Adolf Hitler. "
"You mean 1945. He died in '45."
"Did he now?"
anybody's able to play, but a background in dark heresy is recommended.

Option 2: This is my gestalt game that i've been wanting to run for the past year. I haven't had any luck with getting enough players. there is plenty information already available on it, so i'll just post the links here, and leave you to your own devices. experienced players preferred.

Option 3: Iron heroes: Know of Conan the barbarian? well if not, go watch the 1980's movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Not much magic to speak of, the classes are based on martial prowess only. uses a similar system to D&D 3.5, so if you know how to play that, this would be easy to get into. newbies also welcome.

Option 4: if enough interest is shown, I will run a 4th or 5th level D&D campaign. I expect a veteran or two will be available to help out with character creation, and i'm willing to help out with that myself.

a note: I will run a game only if there are 4-5 players interested in a given one. no more, no less. that is all. if there are more players, the first five get dibs.

I'm interested in the Hellboy game [Although I have no background in Dark Hersey] or the 3rd edition D&D game.  I guess that pushes the D&D game to the top since I voted for Hellboy.

we'll be working through the rules of dark heresy, and there will be plenty of changes if we do indeed do it. so don't worry. same goes for the other games.

Alright, it's looking like people are more interested in the D&D adventure. I'll be putting up a new topic with a day to vote on and more details on the setting etc.
