Greetings from your Weeklies Director.

Now that Fractale, and Nichijou have both finished. It's time to move onto next semesters Weekly Screenings. I'm looking for suggestions for anime that is 26 episodes or less. The current top contenders are

Dennou Coil

It's a coming of age anime about children, glasses, a semi-virtual reality thing, virtual pets....
then it get's really creepy. Basically it's 'kids investigate supernatural stuff' Next up we have

Katanagatari

An anime that people enjoyed when I showed it for special screenings. The premise is simple. Girl hires guy to hunt down twelve swords made by a master swordsmith. It's more alternate history. It's a bit wordy.

Those two are the top contenders. If you got suggestions for anime that are around 26 episodes long or less, put them up here and I'll look into them.

Also looking for suggestions for a classic cartoon night since I realized I haven't done one yet, so if you guys are so generous as to give me a few that would be awesome.

I'm fine with the series mentioned.

Classic cartoon night: Santo Bugito.

Classic? Define classic. Does 90's count?
If so, Justice League, or Batman would be a good idea.

I think a good thing to play between shows would be the video for paula abdul's opposites attract. You should give juan a head's up before you play the video so he can have time to leave the room if needed.

Also good candidates for interstitial videos would be walk the dinosaur (was not was) and spin me right round (dead or alive). The videos for these songs are classic examples 80's/90's decadence, cheese, and weirdness.

I would like to heartily recommend the following serieseseses:
"Arakawa Under the Bridge" (for WTF hilarity)
"The Girl Who Leapt through Space" (not in any way related to "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time." This one would fulfill our fan service quota for the semester)

For special presentations, I suggest "Coffee Samurai," a 30 min Korean animation, and both Gantz live action movies.

Oh so that's how they got those laser and light effects. I've always wondered about that. I figured they would have backlit the cel or something.

I remember reading arakawa under the bridge. Always gave me a good laugh.

Also yes the time in the 90s count as classic now. I'll read up on your suggestions lisa, and jeff.

Arakawa Under the Bridge would be a great choice. As would Mawaru Penguindrum.

As for special presentations... Danger 5.
