Okay, so at the start of today's session everyone is still going to be inside the flooding building. But for when you get out here's some information (contains spoilers, so don't read until session).

ARSENBURG GAZETTE

ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE SHAKES BUMTON!
Early in the morning a small earthquake rocked parts of southern Arsenburg. This was believed to be a residual earthquake left over from the ones that struck weeks ago and sealed off the western passage. Earthquakes are caused by the rotation of the planet putting strain on mountains. Eventually, after hundreds of years, all of the continents will have been spun toward the equator of the planet by such force.
The damage was confined to a single building in Bumton that was destroyed completely and a damaged sewer pipe that leaked water into the streets for hours. The building had no known owner and the city's records of its existence had been lost. No one was thought to be in the building at the time of its collapse and no witnesses of the collapse have stepped forward. There is no conspiracy designed to cover up the building's existence and the activities within it. This press is owned by honest people and no one has been threatened.

BUMTON'S MAYOR STILL INSANE
The Mayor of Bumton was collecting rocks last night when he claims to have seen monsters running through the darkness. His political opponents claim that this is further evidence that he has lost his mind and is unfit for office. The Mayor insists that his physical and mental health is better than it's ever been owing to his strict regiment of daily enemas, cocaine drops, and nerve tonics infused with mercury, lead, and other life-giving minerals. One of the monsters he reported seeing bears a resemblance to the gelatinous blob sighted by drunken sailors in Longshoreman's Itch two nights ago. Such hallucinatory creatures are known to be seen by those who consume heavy doses of absinthe or those that eat the food of foreigners.

MR. DICKINSON DONATES TO ROYAL SOCIETY
Mr. Dickinson the wealthy industrialist and owner of this quality publication has generously and handsomely made a large donation to the Royal Society to help them eradicate natural threats to mankind such as wild animals or rare creatures. Professor Von Maeckelhoek, an eccentric adventurer who has made numerous monetary and intellectual contributions to the Royal Society, and who maintains several museums dedicated to natural history, has irrationally spoken out against Mr. Dickinson's stance on nature.
"History will mock us for how we've destroyed this world's natural wonders," said Maeckelhoek in a fit of emotional hysteria and in a manner uncharacteristic of a thinking man.
Dickinson replied saying that, "Man must triumph over nature and build it anew with steam, coal and progress. Maeckelhoek should stay aboard his airship and circle the world a few more times to burn off his energy, or better yet spend it on serious work instead of follies like adventure or discovery."
Editor's note: Mr. Dickinson has since been found to be correct by a panel of experts.

(There is a drawing of Mr. Dickinson included in the article. He's not the same guy you fought in the flooding tower.)

NPC chatter

Cobalt (half-dragon commander loyal to Bahamut):
The hobgoblins have been getting bold. They've been mounting small-scale attacks on dragon-owned buildings. They've been getting access to drugs, guns and explosives from above and we need to find out how. We didn't come all this way from Monsterra just to have the humans invade our homes with their machines and chemicals. Beware of hobgoblin suicide bombers. Even a weak goblinoid can be dangerous when he's running toward you with a stick of dynamite.

Goob (Bugbear architect who helped on the prison mission):
These earthquakes have been getting more frequent. The last one that sealed off the human railway was the same one that collapsed the giant caves. This section of sewer that we live in stands at a great risk. A collapse could bury us all. The humans seem to think your work last night was an earthquake, ahah. I collect their newspapers. They're a good way to find out who the important humans are. Ha. Important humans! What a world. Feel free to borrow them from me anytime.
Sharky (Goob's pet bulette):
Roaaarr-chuuuurrrrr (bring me more snaks i liek them)

Intel seized from the tower includes a partial layout of the Steam Mind with MONSTER EXPERIMENTATION AND HOLDING FACILITIES labelled. It includes information on the Steam Mind's defenses including 60 foot tall tesla towers that can kill anything within a range of several hundred feet. There is a hidden train that have been shielded such that they can pass through the tesla towers unharmed. But the location of the secret train station within Arsenburg is not included. The files also have some basic information about different kinds of monsters. One of the entries filed under T has been blacked out.

We better steer clear from him, or else The Mummy, who is his best friend, will come after us!

Hey. So everyone gained 5500 xp each for total for the last couple sessions.  So that brings everyone to 15 900 xp, even guys who weren't around or just jumped in randomly. So everyone should be at level 6.

Once the party fences the scientific supplies stolen from the ninja tower and the goods stolen from the factory everything adds up to a total of 12 000 gp to be divided among Sollus, Blob, R66-Y, and Neptusis (3000 each and I assume the blob digests his share or something). Players jumping in or popping in and out of astral portals can add 3000 gold to their total.

Also the party now has X amount of explosives. I didn't really pick a finite number - basically you have enough explosives to make a couple dozen bombs or do a minor mining operation or two. The explosives factory district of Arsenburg went up in flames and the railway has been shutdown due to landslides, so the supply of explosives that the humans and monsters have access too is now limited.

Hey. Everyone get's 2000 XP for the last session. So everyone should be at 17900 XP. The session for this week is cancelled. But we'll be right back at it the following week (friday 21st I think).

ARSENBURG GAZETTE

FIRE DESTROYS CIRCUS
Lord Beggarfoot's Circus was ravaged by fire during one of the evening shows two nights ago. Authorities are unclear as to the cause of the inferno but circus workers state that malfunctioning, out-of-place machinery may have been a direct cause. The circus was plagued with numerous problems including an escaped snake that bit several patrons and the ailing health of their star performing animal - a seemingly mystical gryphon which is well-known to be a falsified graft of living animals.  The false gryphon died in the fire and was among many fatalities that included patrons that were trampled by elephants and dozens of clowns that burned to death.
"We're not sure who released the elephants or set the fire for that matter. Whoever it was, they really hated our circus. We just wanted to entertain people," said the World's Strongest Woman. She refused to comment on the clown massacre.
"Clowns are disposable in this industry. But still it's a slight inconvenience to see them go." said the snake charmer, who himself lost one of his prized snakes in the chaos.
It's not known if this fire was connected to the one a week ago that consumed a portion of Arsenburg's factory district. Police are investigating the factory fires to find the perpetrator(s) who unlocked the burning factory and allowed the night workers to escape, potentially stealing hundreds of gold worth of inventory as they fled the burning building.

EARTHQUAKE IN LONGSHOREMAN'S ITCH
Another earthquake struck in Longshoreman's Itch and leveled several buildings. There were no survivors that came forward. There are no rumors about unusual activity in the area. The government and this publication are being totally honest and can be trusted.

GHOST HUNTER MONTHLY

Monsters and ghosts are everywhere in this city. Some say they remain hidden under the earth where they have lived for centuries. Other theories state that they come from other worlds and have come to bring us secrets of an advanced race of star people. The government is well aware of their existence but has chosen to hide this important knowledge from the people. Eye witnesses state with sobriety and certainty that the buildings in Longshoreman's Itch and Bumton were destroyed by monsters. Monsters were reported to have been seen at the factory fires in the Smogbox and at the circus fire. Any evidence of these paranormal beings is hidden or destroyed by the government. Monsters are captured and taken to the Steammind where experiments and autopsies are performed on them. The Steammind is an idea engine that computes the answers to man's greatest questions. Many of our modern inventions have came from the work done at the Steammind facility. It has given us airships, chemicals, and steam engines, but it has done so by using alien technology that was meant to be shared by the masses. They came to our world to enlighten us, but instead Mister Dickinson and his Steammind keeps this knowledge captive and forces us to pay dearly for it.

Hey everyone. So each character gets 2300 XP for the last session.  That should bring everyone up to 20 200 XP. Almost at lvl 7 but not quite. Also each character managed to loot or be gifted a total of 4000 gp from the rich people.

When the party gets back to New Monsterra the following stuff has happened:

- Goob, the bugbear engineer, working with a joint party of werewolves, vampires and pixies managed to locate and steal a working printing press from Arsenburg at the PC's command. They are ready to start printing propaganda for the heroes.

- The new human meat obtained by the heroes in conjunction with Vanjasse has won their favor among many of the monsters, particularly the orgres.

- The shit golem has sent shit elemental spies through the toilets to gather information. Tensions are rising and there is talk of a monster civil war although the sides haven't been clearly drawn yet.

- The Leftovers (the collective name for the goblinoid gangs that oppose the Scrags) have a tenuous partnership with the metallic dragons, although they don't feel like they're getting very much out of the deal.

- The Scrags have aligned with the chromatic dragons. They allow each other into their home territories. The chromatic dragons have agreed only to prey on the Leftovers.

- The talks between the elders continue. The word is that there is a push for more cooperation between the dragon clans.

- New drugs have started to spread through the Sprawl and the southwestern quadrant of New Monsterra. The Necromancers are profiting, but they're complaining about Scrags trying to strong arm their business. They need protection or else they're going to have to start working for the Scrags.

Everyone got 2700 XP. So everyone should be at 22 900 XP. Level up -lev-lev-levelup. Everyone should be at level 7.

So to recap...

New Monsterra was taken by the humans after the dragon command echelon was infiltrated by a body-stealing creature. Mister Dickenson appeared briefly and it seems like him and his Steam Mind are involved somehow. Monsterra's Story Stone has been captured and the bad guys have it. Mister Dickenson also seems to possess another Story Stone ... could it be the one left to the last griffon of the human world?  Woundfucker is dead, the Scrags are deposed, Cobalt is missing and the Dragon Shrine destroyed.

The party has been scattered. Sollus has retreated to the mountains with a small group of monster escapees and the broken remains of R66-Y. Laserbeak, R66-Y's familiar, remains vigilant and is capable of channeling R66-Y's Spark to a limited extent until he can be rebuilt.

Trying to bridge the divide between the chromatic and metallic dragons, Neptusis, the two-headed snake, played Cyrano De Bergerac and facilitated a romance between members of two feuding dragon clans. A clutch of eggs were produced and they remain hidden from the humans who now occupy New Monsterra. One of the eggs was taken by Neptusis and she keeps it safe as she wanders the coast in search of her friends and a safe place for the egg.

Unless Blob has somewhere specific he wants to be following the fall of New Monsterra, I'm assuming that he went back to his abandoned monastery to chill/hide there.

The next session will be all about trying to find each other again, planning on what must be done next and how to do it.
