You run out place the eggs and run back; and then the waiting begins. After a full hour waiting for the predator to arrive for its eggs you see movement at the tree line, what do you do?

The thermal nightvision shows an animal about the size of a bear, which is significantly smaller then the predator has been described.

you shoot it, its injured but not dead. The creature lets out a loud screech an hobbles back into the dense forest. Suddenly the creature is snatched up by something much larger, the alpha predator you've been waiting for. The creature emerges from the forest moving towards the tower. You could only describe the creature as some sort of dinosaur, large reptilian on four legs with giant jaws chewing on the creature you just shot.

Frank is a piss poor shot and only manages to land a couple of bullets on the creature despite firing full-auto at it.
Bob on the other hand fills its torsos with lead.
Hossie fills the creatures head with lead as well.

After a few seconds the creature falls over, what do you do?

The creature twitches slightly but otherwise remains innert as you empty another clip into it. It seems quite dead.

Greenberg watched as large groups of colonists hurriedly filtered out of the lander, managing to catch snatches of conversation from different people.
"-Killed a predator-"
"-HUGE, bigger than a tank-"
"-didn't think there'd be dinosau-"
"-could swallow you whole-"
The conversations increased in volume and excitement as the news spread, and before long, the lander was nearly deserted. Greenberg turned to face his two wide-eyed assistants. "Well, looks like the danger's over," said Greenberg. "I think it'd be sorely remiss of us to be missing out on the excitement, wouldn't you say?"
"Oh, hell yeah," said Rice, running out of the lander before anyone could say another word. Shirozuka watched her dash off with a cocked eyebrow before turning back to Greenberg and nodding. With that silent agreement, the two men headed outside to survey the newest discovery.
A massive throng of colonists was gathered around the prone corpse of a massive beast. Dark, copper-red blood soaked the scaly hide of the creature, which could have dwarfed a small house with ease. Greenberg gently pushed his way through the crowd until he arrived at the underbelly of the beast, where Rice was crouched, gazing upon the creature with rapt fascination. Greenberg couldn't blame her in the slightest, as he made his way to the beast's head, a walk that took him all of five seconds.
Look at this bone structure, he thought to himself, eyes roaming ceaselessly, brain churning out hypotheses like water from a river's mouth. Wide set jaws, built to tear through hide and crush bones, eyes positioned at the front, rather than the sides... He stood on tiptoes to get as best a look as he could of the creature's back. Are those... segmented plates? Like a prehistoric Ankylosaurus? Amazing! A plated armour system that improves the creature's natural defense, yet doesn't impair it's running ability in the slightest...
He turned his attention to the creature's legs. And with musculature like this, it must be some sprinter! He shook his head, laughing to himself. "Well, my young colleagues," he said, making his way back to Shirozuka and Rice, "I think we've made the taxonomical discovery of a lifetime! Shirozuka, head back and grab some supplies from the lab, we'll need tissue samples, blood samples, as much as we can get. Rice, you and I will..."
Greenberg paused. "Miss Rice?" He crouched down beside her, peering at her face. She was still staring at the beast's underside, eyes glazed over in deep thought. Has she even blinked once? thought Greenberg with some concern. He cleared his throat loudly. "Samantha?"
The young woman started at the mention of her name. "Sorry, Paul," she apologized, "I was just..." she gestured helplessly at the creature. "Well, LOOK at it! It's a freaking dinosaur!"
"Not quite," said Greenberg. "It's a large reptilian, but it's not a dinosaur, as it is very much not extinct. Still, we'll be doing a lot of research on this as we continue building the lab. It's currently the largest predator we know of, very dangerous, and we'll need to know as much about it as possible. You know what that means?"
Rice looked up at Greenberg, thinking for a moment, before her mouth gave way to the grin of a starving animal. "We sample the fuck out of it, that's what that means."

Roll to study and take samples of the creature to find out as much as possible about it (feeding habits, weaknesses, sensory systems, lifespan, etc.)
