Conall surveys the day's work, checking it over for any problems. Content, he offered his assembled workers a pleased smile. "We ought to be able to finish this in a day or two. Then we'll get started on some PROPER shelters for all of us. For now, you've all earned whatever passes for a meal. I'll see you all bright and early."

With a friendly nod, the engineer waved them off and then returned to the lander. Taking his infinipen and notebook from his luggage, he made his way to the outskirts of the encampment, just far enough away that the camp lights wouldn't bother him. A slow, content smile spread across his face as the planet's namesake star dipped below AU794's horizon.

The first moon began to rise, and Conall Dunham slowly settled down on the ground, putting pen to paper.

"Copper oxide?" Lorenzo muses aloud. He /thinks/ he can remember what that does to the soil. Better check the Almanac.

Lorenzo also decides to devise a meal plan to conserve the rations as much as possible while still providing adequate nutrition. It will take a while to get the crops going, he figures.

Copper (I) oxide can be made into an excellent fungicide, and an insecticide for potatoes. You can't think of a good meal plan other then the standard nutrition paste.

Your take off is a little rocky due to the failing light. Surveying the surrounding land, to the south you see a large mountain range that may hold a wealth of inorganic material, to the north across the lake you see a large river that feeds the lake via a large waterfall, to the east is more jungle, and to the west you see more jungle and several large clouds that seem to be coming your way.

Hossie sets up a schedule which gives everyone some fabber time, but prioritizes "figures of authority" and experts for time on both the fabbers. This gets posted on both fabbers.

Hmmm, thought Greenberg. This could be a problem. Upon receiving the results of the soil analysis, he immediately went to find Hossie, and informed the Texan of the unusually high concentration of copper oxide. "It's not toxic," explained Greenberg, "but it'll be a problem health-wise in the long run if we don't do something about it. I'll look into formulating a compound to remove the copper oxide from the soil, but failing that, we will need to fabricate a machine to purify the soil. I'll let you know when I'm finished."

(For the rest of the week, Greenberg will do these tasks in this order:)

1. Create a chemical compound to remove the copper oxide from the soil
2. Analyze the surrounding trees and document their characteristics
3. Set up his laboratory in the center of the camp
4. Investigate the camp for other notable species, or records of life (footprints, scat, strands of hair or feathers)

Rolls:
1. (2d6) - 4,1
2. (2d6) - 6,1
3. 5
4. (2d6) - 5,1

Lorenzo paces about impatiently as Greenberg discusses the situation. Blast, and he was all set up to start planting, too! Looks like food pellets and whatever they can hunt and forage for the next week or so.

Organize and lead forage/hunting teams:

Rolled 1d6 : 2, total 2

Start building a fence/clearing space for camp (no fire!):
Rolled 1d6 : 6, total 6

Analyze the plants and mushrooms for edibility:
Rolled 1d6 : 1, total 1
Rolled 1d6 : 4, total 4

As you are about to start leading a foraging team out, your original foraging team returns with lots of fruit.

You assist the sheriff in clearing land for the camp it looks like you're going to have room for another building or small field here soon.

Many of the plants look edible but you can not be sure with alien life.

as the weather is rainy, Bones thinks it unwise to do recon as he was intending to do. so,
>get mooks to put on tracking beads, and give them alarm beads. just to keep an eye on them should anything go awry.
>set up barrels and buckets etc. for water collection.
>monitor the fabbers.

Conall awoke and yawned, a steady pattering of rain against the hull of the lander giving him a pretty clear idea of the weather outside. He shrugged on his jumpsuit and walked out, blearily rubbing at his eyes as he looked around.

"Well, this just makes life more fun, doesn't it...?" He wondered aloud to himself wryly. Making his way to what served as the ship's mess, he made himself a cup of (shitty) coffee and drank it down as quickly as its rather scalding temperature allowed. That done, without bothering to stop for breakfast, the engineer made his way outside and surveyed the work done so far on the church/meeting hall.
