Hullo the ARC!

I will be running one game on Thursdays this upcoming semester. The setting and system is up for discussion. Please only vote if you are free on Thursdays and intend to play. The day is non-negotiable, sorry. It's the only day I'm free.

The above choices are the system/setting options, not the names of the campaigns.

I'm capping the limit at six players.

Firefly

Setting: Will be set in the Serenityverse
System: D6 based, Firefly system
Playstyle: More cinematic and roleplay-based, not combat-heavy

"Malcom Reynolds and the crew of the Serenity shattered the tenuous illusion of liberty that the Alliance held like a veil over the eyes of the Worlds, Core and Rim alike. However, they could not shatter the entire Alliance fleet, nor the greedy desire for power that kept Alliance politicians exploiting their people. The system worked for them, and they had no desire to relinquish power. It is into this power struggle that you step, as Browncoats and freedom fighters, or perhaps as sabouteurs or double agents implanted by the Alliance. You are the crew of the Machiavelli, captained by Elias Tayford, and your goal is the absolute dissolution of the Alliance and its iron grip on the freedom of the 'Verse."

Robin Hood

Setting: Custom
System: Pathfinder
Playstyle: Combat heavy, but roleplaying expected
Level: 6
Special Rules: You have to have some form of a stealth/deception skill.

"The barony has always been a peaceful place. Few sought violence, and rarely was the hangman's noose needed. This, however, was under the old Baron. The new Baron, Cassius Pormentious, has nothing of his father, the previous Baron, in him. He is needlessly cruel, and seems to take delight in exacting harsh punishment for even the mildest of crimes. Under him, the barony is prosperous, but only to a small few. This means that the nobility are likely to be of little help, and may even help Pormentious in the case of trouble. After enough time, his attitude quickly begins to grate on all manner of man and woman, from human to Elf. After enough time, resistance just seems... right. You are the rebels, the freedom fighters, though you fight against your own people. You are not welcome, for your presence draws the ire of Baron Pormentious, and his actions against those that harbour you are swift and violent. So you and yours have taken to the forests, from where you aim to free your people, and deal with Pormentious, once and for all..."

Wasteland

Setting: Earth
System: D&D 3.5e
Playstyle: Combat/role-playing balance
Level: 3
Special Rules: No magic, and no technology past steam machinery without my permission.

"One day, it all stopped. All technology more complex than steam machinery simply shut down. No more computers, no more satellites, hell, no more fridges or microwaves. God-forsaken guns wouldn't even work. We were left with our wits and our brawn and our human will to survive against all odds. However, most didn't. The first few years were bad. We lost a lot of people. Nobody knows how many there are in the world right now, but if I had to guess, I'd say we lost billions at least. There just wasn't enough food for everyone. People went all savage-like, stole and pillaged. Then they started to band together. You wound up with small villages at first, then little towns, then eventually respectable cities with walls and everything. These days, a man is measured by the strength in his arm. But there're rumblings. We're safe here, in Cascadia, for the most part... but we're hearing tell of immense war-bands out East. Huge ones. Violent ones. Armies, even. We need some good men and women to travel out thataways, and find out just how true these rumours are... and if we can even do anything to stop what's going on. That's where you lot come in I s'pose."

Vote away. Once polls have decided on one, I'll open up a separate thread and character generation. The floor is open, folks.

Love.
You can learn all the math in the 'verse.
But you take a boat in the air that you don't love.
She'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds.
Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down.
Tells you she's hurting before she keels.
Makes her a home.

Aw, I was hoping you'd be continuing one of the D&D ones you were already running.

for the wasteland one you might want to try Iron Heroes, its a fantasy system with optional magic.

I'd be up for serenity style or even robin hood style.

More serenity though.

I'd also be really interested in any three of these campaigns, I just need to see what's going on with Jesse's campaign before I make any commitments.

Okay, I've got my schedule figured out, and I'd be stoked to play in this game if that's alright with you.

Of course. Looks like we'll have around five or six if people that posted here indicating interest are still up for it. I'll let the poll ride til Friday night, then whatever has the most votes at that point will be the game we're playing.
