Alright, this is the second attempt to get this game going. Last time I tried to get a game going, problems arose in that there were not enough players. so, I'll try to keep this intro shorter than the last time.

general idea:
You guys will play as the princes of the universe. A group of people similar to those described of in this video:

in character terms, this means that this will be based on highlander (required viewing. just don't watch highlander 2, or any of its sequels.) what that means is, you're characters will be decapitating people to gain their powers.

In addition to that, I will be drawing on queen songs and other things for inspiration, including conan: the barbarian. (Also, watch Conan. because Conan is awesome. That's the one with Arnold Schwarzenegger. trust me, it's good.)

One other thing I'd like to try to do is set the stage with music, call it an overture. each session will begin (if I remember to do this) with a song from either Queen, Wagner, the Conan soundtrack, or something else.

I am being fairly lenient in terms of how your character is structured. that said, there are a few restrictions, for the sake of flavour.
1. level 8 gestalt. this is a fairly ridiculous amount of firepower available. I reserve the right to say "no." I also reserve the right to say "yes." -- what that means I will elaborate in a little bit.
2. the class you use must have martial weapon proficiency. The idea here is, you're a highlander. You need to be able to chop the other immortal's heads off, yes? -- I realize well that there are other methods of doing this, but I would prefer the leaders of a war against a darkest power to be, you know, martial characters.
3. I want backstories. GIVE ME BACKSTORIES. if you write a really good one, I might be inclined to give you some kinda wicked crazy awesome power. (this is the "right to say YES.") okay, maybe not that broken a power, but it'll be something cool. (Probably not something like 'force choke,' but perhaps 'jedi mind trick.') I also tend to use NPC's described in people's backstories to make the characters more involved than "guys who just walked in off the street." That said, it is not compulsory, but strongly recommended.

Ideas as to how you to go about making your backstory: try to go for something like this:
-how you got your powers.
-what your character wants to do in his immortality.
-what he has done.
-friends, enemies, direct rival immortals.
-reasons for revenge/reasons for questing.
-why you are now with the party, or one of the party members. (discuss that amongst yourselves. I'm lenient in that regard especially, but would really like it if you guys did so.)
-your god(s), and methods of worship (bonus points for choosing Crom. fictional gods are always okay, just make sure this isn't just some god you just made up. you can also base yourself on a song by queen or iron maiden or maybe somebody else.)
-and anything else. note that this list is non exhaustive and non-compulsory. if you have any questions, just pm me.

4. Another restriction is magic using classes → because it'd probably get horridly broken if you were to, say, combine Wizard and artificer or some shit like that, only one (full?)-spellcasting class per character, and only one of those may be a tier one (if you need to know what the hell tiers are, see the following websites:

http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=5256.0

One last thing is, to those that wish to play in this game, there is a poll at the top of the page for which game to do this on. I will be on campus on Monday Wednesday and Friday. so, pick amongst those for when to play. I may be able to attend on tuesday/thursday, but would prefer not to. So, for now, only those three options are available. we will be playing from 5:30-9:30, usually, so be aware. We may modify that for convenience.

Please post any questions/comments you may have! I'll respond to them as quickly as possible. PM me backstories if you write them (and please do.)

Current Characters:
1. Chris
2. Anh
3. Jeff
4. Leo?
5. -open-
(I will NOT run 6 players)

I'm in.

Is the basis for our character that we were mortals granted the power of gods? I haven't watched Highlander, but I will soon, so let me know if my answer will be granted by the movie.

That's actually up to you. you could be born with it, not know where it comes from, or for your deeds receive the powers. Still, watch highlander.

Tells you she's hurting before she keels.
Makes her a home.

it looks like the best day to hold this, considering all other games is going to be mondays. That is all.

I really haven't decided. I doubt this is going to be a "party needs designated trapmonkey, healer, party face, etc." type of campaign, so that gives us all nothing but options. Here's some of the ideas I had:

Drow Transmuter + Swashbuckler/Swiftblade

Half-celestial Cleric/Bone Knight + Paladin/Crusader

Kobold Swashbuckler/Rogue + Bard

Warforged Fighter/Warforged Juggernaut + Incarnate

I like the Drow character. I'm not quite sure what to run myself, I think I'm going to have to trawl through some of my sourcebooks for inspiration.

Well, some unrealized ideas I had were Goliath Incarnate + Barbarian/Runescarred Berserker, Thri-kreen Scout + Psionic Warrior, Dwarf Transmuter/Runesmith + Ranger/Deepwarden, and Human Factotum + Rogue/Chameleon. Maybe those will inspire you.

As for my class, Jeremy gave me an idea for a Warblade/Binder combo. Still working out my race and backstory, but the mechanics of the combo sound pretty cool.

Thinking of doing a Huntmaster of Malar trying to redeem himself, who is punished by having his family placed into Malar's Hunt and being forced to stand by and watch as they are hunted for eternity, with Malar granting him immortality just to prolong his suffering. Imagining he manages to make contact with a good-aligned deity, perhaps Silvanus or Chauntea, with the aim of freeing himself and then rescuing them. Don't precisely know what classes he'll hold yet.
