'Ello, it appears I'm the new screenings director.

Just wonering if anyone has any suggestions towards, say, anime that I should show or what I should do
etc. etc.

The pleimnary line-up I have right now for regular is
The Vision of Escalfowne
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex
Jellyfish Princess(KurageHime which I have heard good things about)
Welcome to the NHK
And Durarara!!
Oh, and Phantom Memory Kurau

I was thinking of showing two regulars, four episodes showing two of each followed by three special screening episodes/movie afterwards.

I highly recommend GiTS, since it mainly consists of several self contained mini-arcs which means if people do miss screenings they'll still be able to enjoy it.

I shall be shameless and say both Escaflowne and GitS if only because they share a composer.

I vote GiTS, mainly because if we screen Escaflowne, I KNOW Javier's going to annoy us with an incessant barrage of references from the Abridged Series.

Problem with GitS is that it was on TV just three years ago, so most of the newbies joining the club will have already recently seen it. Escaflowne and Kuragehime sounds like a better combination.

Although this Kurau series sounds interesting as well.

Man.
We need a non-anime classics screening night as well.

That's basically WHY we're showing three anime series a semester. If we don't we'll have a horde of anime fans wanting to play Ramsay Bolton with your dangly bits *cough*JESSE*cough*. If we show ENOUGH anime for regular presentations, we can get away with showing more non-anime screenings.

...This basically means we NEED to show at least three series a semester, which is why we're thinking of sandwiching DMC in between the two regulars.

I wouldn't say we'd need to show three series. Two would work fine, I was just thinking of squeezing DMC because of how many people requested it.

And I was thinking of non-anime special presentations. That's kind-of why they're called special presentations rather then 'more anime that aren't regular special presentations'...is what I feel, correct me if I'm wrong on that.

My thoughts exactly.

The problem is, these are still technically Anime Weeklies, and these ARE the main event for the anime/manga portion of the club. While I'd love to have more non-anime presentations, we'd also have to show enough and a varied enough range of anime regular screenings to keep them coming back.

What about Japanese live action drama for a special screening?  I strongly suggest Nodame Cantibile.

I'd love to watch GiTS, mainly because I have only seen the 2.0 movie and haven't been able to find Stand Alone Complex anywhere.

Dare I ask if we'll be showing Garzey's Wing this semester?
