Bad news guys.

I just recorded the update, and it turns out that I lost track of time as I was talking (just like all the time in real life!), so part 7 is 11 minutes above DailyMotion's limit. After having a sad, I decided to split the update into two parts. The good news is that you guys get half an hour of me giving historical context. The bad news is that I'll have to render and upload two separate vids, which might take a while, possibly until early tomorrow.

I tried to keep talking and be more informative this time.

Part 7-1: This is the Greatest Hat Ever Made

Part 7-2: Make Money, Not War!

Recap: I played about an hour or so off-screen, doing very little except kill brigands/bandits and take their stuff. Onscreen, I got an even fancier hat, got Father Spas a hat and went to look for more hats. I then spent half an hour derping around Europe, doing some incidental trades, making a nice profit and giving some historical context all the while. I now find myself looking at a very nice piece of armour, which would cost nearly 90% of my ready cash.
Question: I have a little over 4.4k Thaler, I am looking at a piece of chest armour which offers about 6 times the body protection I have now but costs a little more than 4k Thaler. Armour is the key to staying alive in this game, and body protection in particular is very important (seeing as that's about 60% of your target area). Should I:
-Buy the new armour
-Not spend the money
-Do something else (or do something else AFTER buying the armour?)

EDIT: I gush about that new hat for a full minute, I'm really sorry.

Recruit more men, give them fancy hats. and decree yourself Grand Supreme Overlord of Fancy Hats and anyone who has a fancy hat that is not in your group must die.

Oh, and buy armour.

Hire more men, get into bigger fights.
Can you equip you normal recruits with hats? If you can, try to have matching hats for everyone.
And you can have the armour.

Just FYI: you guys haven't seen it yet, but my troops already HAVE matching hats (Iron Caps for the infantry and Marksmen Caps for the Merc Rifles and (Veteran) Marksmen) and armour (Marksmen Tunics for the faction troops, Moscow Reiter Armour for everyone else.). I'll get into a fight next update to show you.

No, I have to recruit them from the prisoners of brigands and the like. They don't upgrade anymore, so they're basically useless. I DID run into two major female characters in my other save. One is Oksana (A fortune teller who can join the party), the other is Queen Christina of Sweden (Gustavus Adophus' daughter, who was deposed by King Carl Gustav, she's the Swedish claimant).

Part 8: Regular Ordinary Eastern European Combat Time

Recap: Kind of a slow update this time around (sorry about that). Bought the armour, went into battle against a party of deserters who killed a good number of my more experienced troops. Had to nearly go bankrupt replacing them. I've gotten a bit more money back thanks to loot, but still not nearly enough to have complete freedom of action/get more troops.
Question: As mentioned in the vid, what do I do now? Do I:
-Do some more trading to get some more money?
-Join a faction (and if so, which one)?
-Grind off-screen a bit more?
-Do something else?
