For years, Japanese animation has been one of the major driving forces behind the Altered Reality Club. We have traditionally been one of the largest clubs focused on anime in the Vancouver region, and we continue to gain more prominence every year. If you are interested in the art style, fandom, cosplay, industry, or just watching and discussing Japanese cartoons, then the ARC is the place for you!
Weekly anime screenings are held every semester for twelve weeks while classes are in session. The screenings are generally broken into two parts: before the break is our weekly showcase, which is a particular classic or notable series which we show in its entirety over the course of the semester; after the break is the special presentation, which generally consists of a movie or selection of episodes from a series we want to bring your attention to. Great care and scrutiny is taken when making our screening selections, so don't expect to see anything bland or overexposed.
